FAQ

A certified translation is the written translation of a document bearing the seal and signature of the licensed translator, which complies with the requirements established by Law. Any document may be a certified translation, whether its content is legal or technical.

Certified translations are certified by the Translators’ Professional Associations. Please find the certification costs in the following links:

An Apostille is a certificate that verifies the origin of a public document issued by a member country of the Hague Convention.

It is essential to know what the organization/institution requesting the translation needs, for example, if the source documentation should be certified or if the translation should be submitted digitally or on paper.

It depends on how the certified translation is submitted (digitally or physical document). It should be noted that the digital signature has the same legal efficacy as the written signature.

For information purposes, digital certifications include a QR code to verify its authenticity if printed.

Interpretation is the oral translation of a speech in real time (whether on-site or remotely). While interpretation is oral and in real-time, translation is written.

There are different types of interpretation services:

  • Consecutive: the interpreter translates after the speaker (e.g., press conferences, meetings with a small audience, assistance in factories, marriages).
  • Simultaneous: the interpreter translates at the same time as the speaker (e.g., conferences, meetings with a larger audience).

For an effective interpretation, it is important to share all the materials to be used and verify the sound and interpreters’ location.
